The news is emerging that the film distributors in the USA are not showing much interest in Vidya Balan starred upcoming movies The Dirty Picture.
Vidya Balan Playing Silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture
Even though there are several distributors keen to buy the worldwide theatrical rights of the film for Rs180 to 190 million reportedly, the amount is a mere few millions in the state.
The excuse given by the distributors in the USA is that Vidya Balan doesn’t look like Silk Smitha at all. They are complaining that Vidya Balan is not as dusky and as voluptuous as Silk Smitha was.

The Dirty Picture is based on the film career of the south Indian Actress Silk Smitha who committed suicide in the 80s.
