Vidya Balan had no reservations when she signed and did The Dirty Picture. She knew very well that she had to do some bold sequences for this film as the movie is based on the life on the south siren Silk Smitha. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, who is a hard task master, the movie cannot compromise on the authenticity.

But Vidya’s beau is not happy with her bold avatar of in this film. The explicit content of the film has astonished fans of Vidya Balan but definitely disturbed Siddartha Roy Kapoor, UTV’s head honcho. He has been dating the actress for quite a while now.
Siddhartha is reasonably perturbed with the raunchy sequences of The Dirty Picture and cannot see his lady love doing such scenes. “Naturally, Siddhartha wasn`t too pleased about her kissing scenes and asked her why she agreed to shoot them,” informs a source. Adding further he says, “Siddhartha also tried asking Vidya if there was a way she could get the scenes in question toned down.”
But Ekta Kapoor is no mood to pay heed to Siddhartha’s request and has refused to compromise on the content of the film.
“The film is about the life of Silk Smitha sassy girl. But there`s also a good measure of dark humor, intense drama. So whatever Vidya`s shot, is in keeping with the subject and her character,” said the source.
Informing more about the bold character that Vidya essays in ‘The Dirty Picture’, director Milan Luthria said, “It goes without saying that it`s not a very easy scene to shoot. The film seeks to push the envelope further, that`s the kind of clarity she and I share, right from the start. She`s very professional and everything went off fine. This is just one aspect of the movie, there are so many more. Nonetheless, there was no discomfort when she shot the scenes in question.”
